How Green are you?

Well, this time I will talk about the environment and about habits that people have.
In our world, there are many habits, products and industries that make the world a place with pollution and a place with many dangers to animals and people. It is because we aren`t interesting about our world, our animals and our environment.
If we talk about the school, we can say that there aren’t many teachers that teach to student about these things, and is very difficult to found a place where all people (teachers and student) are interesting in the environment.
In my opinion, when I think in recycling, I can say that it is a very good and attractive habit, because it is a way to take care to environment and one way to save materials and products (that some people think these products are out of order) that we will use to make other new things. If we haven`t incorporated these habits in our practices, our world will be a dump, with garbage and garbage.
I will be honest, if you ask me if I have incorporated recycling in my habits, I must say no. I must say that I haven`t many information about these things, because I don’t look for information. In spite of this, I think that is very important take care with our things and our world. I must considerate recycling habits like an important option to help myself.
Other thing that we can use to help to take care with the environment is the bike and our legs. When we want go to some place, and it isn`t far away, we can use the bike. These habits are very good to our health and to environment develop. In spite of this, I can use a bike, because I haven`t one.
I thing that are very important eco–organizations in our society, because this organizations can make a work that nobody want to do. Is because this that I think that we need this organizations to make Santiago a beautiful city.

high school A 44 (to rocío)

My experience in high school education is very special to me, because I can to remember nice things that I lived in there. I arrived to Carmela Carvajal high school in 2003, when I was thirteen years old. In this place I had different subjects, like mathematics, English, history, music, physical education, biology, etc. In the school there is one teacher to each subject, and they were very efficient to their job. Teachers are characters very important to my education, because they were always worried persons.
On the other hand, we have technology, in each classroom there is a television and a DVD. I had an English laboratory and I was very taken with this classroom, because each student had headphones, one computer and a microphone. These things we used in English class, and when teacher ask to somebody, this person could answer the teacher question with the microphone.
If we talk about the level of education I received in high school, I thing that it was very important to my decisions in life, in the career that I chose and in myself. Is because the education that I received in this school that I am… like I am. On the other hand, I think that this school helped to me, when the time of PSU is arrived.
If you ask to me about one idea to my authorities to improve the educational system, I think that they must to forget the money and they must think in the education to people, in a good education, with quality. When people said that poor persons are lazybones, I think that it is not true. On one hand, we need responsibility of student, but in spite of this we need a free education, to rich and poor people.

In this article, we can see that some British parents were relaxed for their children experiment with drugs, alcohol and sex. Some sociology studies like surveys revealed that some parents were happy for their children experiment with these things because they hope to give their kids the freedoms they did not have.
Some studies also revealed that “One-third of parents – rising to half of those in London – said they were happy for their children to experiment with cannabis. A similar proportion admitted they were relaxed about all drug-taking, regarding it as an inevitable part of growing up.” These results revealed that parents are in other world...a new world.
A professor of sociology at the University of Kent said: "Parents understand that society has changed and that it is not the end of the world if their teenager experiments with alcohol or has sex”. In this context, we can see an important change in mind of our society, and it is an important matter to sociologist and social anthropologist, because some social and cultural factors are to influence in this changes and they are important to make parents with “open-mind”
Other thing important in this article is the opinion about the homosexuality, because this study revealed that some mothers would have no problem if their child was gay. In spite of this, homosexuality is a problem to many British parents.
The study revealed too that statistics about fathers and mothers opinion are different. We can say that the mother opinion and the father opinion, are different about drugs, alcohol and sex, but it isn’t a problem to say that our society was changed.

"The Illusionist"

If you ask me about my favorite movie, appear in my mind a lot of movies and is very difficult choose only one.
One of the movies that I love is “The Illusionist”, a movie about love, mystery and envy.
This movie is written and directed by Neil Burger and the protagonists of the film are Edward Norton, Jessica Biel, and Paul Giamatti.
The story takes place in Viena in early twentieth century. On one hand, Edward Norton is Eisenheim and he is an Illusionist, his magic show is a true impact for people and this situation creates a revolution in the city. On the other hand, Jessica Biel is Sophie (the Duchess von Teschen) and she is the young love of Eisenheim, but the problems and the true obstacle in the relationship are their different social classes.
Eisenheim becomes obsessed with magic and he devoted his life to be a master illusionist. When his work is in the top of the sky, the Crown Prince Leopold (Paul Giamatti) makes his life a hell. He (Leopold) thinks that Eisenheim is a true problem to his life and in his opinion this character is an obstacle and an “agitator” of people, is with this excuse that he try to take him like a prisioner. The most important problem is Sophie, because Eisenheim and Leopold fight because her.
My favorite part is the end, when we can understand the essence of the movie and we can see the expression of love.
I like the movie, because it has a mysterious essence and you can understand the film, only if you pay attention in the end.
I wouldn’t change anything of the movie, because I think that it has the perfect proportions of love, mystery, drama and suspense.

Santiago, a place to enjoy...

Santiago is a place to enjoy. In spite of the people think that Santiago is a horrible city, I think that Santiago is a very interesting place.
In this city there are many places to visit, one of them is the Santa Lucía hill, in this place you can see the true city from the top of the hill, and you can use the viewpoint to enjoy the view. This hill is a beautiful place and you can feel the special air.
On the other hand, you can go to the historic museum, in this place there are many thinks of the history of Chile, there are letters of important persons to the country, pictures,religious elements, archaeological materials and some elements from the Chilean independence.
Other place to visit is the O’ Higgins Park, in this place there is an amusement park : “Fantasilandia”. This place is very interesting and beautiful to visit with the family, what is more, with the children. They will enjoy the green areas and the food that they can eat in the park.
The catholic cemetery is a beautiful place to visit if you love the architecture, because in spite of the context, the place has a little of magic.
In this city there are many places where you can go to eat, walk, see movies and things like read. One of them is the cultural center “Matucana 100”, place where you can go to see theater productions and artistic exhibitions.
Well, you can see…Santiago is a place to enjoy…

A curious country...

Well, if you tell me that I must choose a country to live, immediately I think of Argentina, because in my opinion it is a perfect place to live.
If you ask me about a beautiful place to visit or to go in vacations I think in Bariloche, I must confess that I’m not a regular traveler, but when I travelled to Argentina in 2006 (it was only once, it was a studies travel), I was in love with the city, the persons, the constructions, the houses, etc. It is a very nice place to visit, but it is not a place to live.
I choose this country because a little and specific aspect and a thing that it was very shocking to me… it was the cheap price of cds and cigarettes, what is more, the price of books. In our country, we always need much money to pay a book, but in this place, we can pay two books with the same money.
If we are talk about a place to live, I choose Mendoza or Buenos Aires, because in my opinion they have important cultural aspect, and the Argentinean people have a beautiful past, a beautiful history.
